🏃 Track championships in Eugene

NCAA track and field championships come to town, Eugene beer week kicks off, and your event calendar for the week

Good morning, Eugene! It’s heating up faster than a sprinter off the blocks, so lace up, stay in your lane, and let this week’s Buzz hurdle you straight into the action (let me know if I missed any other obvious track puns).

In today’s Eugene Buzz:

  • 🏃 NCAA track and field championships come to Eugene

  • 🍺 Eugene Beer Week is here

  • 📆 Your event roundup for the week ahead

Let’s get to it.

🍺 Eugene Beer Week is here

It’s time to celebrate all things beer with Eugene Beer Week! All week long, breweries will be hosting special beer tastings, brewer’s dinners, tours, a home brew competition, and more! The festivities officially got underway yesterday and run through Sunday. You can check out the full schedule of events here.

🏃 NCAA Track & Field championships return to Hayward Field

Prepare for a busy week around Eugene as the NCAA Track and Field championships return to Hayward Field. The competition kicks off on Wednesday and runs through Saturday, with the men competing on Wednesday & Friday and the women’s events taking place on Thursday & Saturday. There are still plenty of tickets available, just in case you want to watch the Oregon men and women show the rest of the country why we’re still the track capital.

Business Happenings

🍺 Viking Brewing to close Southtowne Pub: Well now this isn’t the type of news we want to be sharing during beer week. Viking Brewing announced over the weekend that the last day of service at their Southtowne Pub location will be on June 21st. So make sure to swing by one last time (or maybe even a few last times) before they close their doors for good.
