Eugene Lowdown Spring Into Fun Events This Week!
Everything Happening In Eugene In Your Inbox Twice A Week!
Basketball is over. Time to exatract yourself from the couch, and check out what's happening out there!

Good morning. It's Tuesday, April 7, 2026. If your calendar suddenly looks busier, blame spring. Farmers markets are gearing up, fungi are getting the cinematic treatment, and the rivers are calling the fly fishers back like a group text. Alright, here's today's edition of your Eugene Lowdown:

📰 LOCAL NEWS LOWDOWN

Downtown Outdoor Markets Are Back!

April is doing what April does: getting Eugene outside shopping and eating. Lane County Farmers Market and Eugene Saturday Market just kicked off the main season downtown, with food, crafts, and weekly live music every Saturday.. Springfield will join the party when their Sundays Farmers Market opens June 7.

Eugene Gets a Mushroom Movie

Eugene is getting a film that is equal parts science and forest-floor eye candy. Australian filmmakers Steven Axford and Catherine Marciniak will screen Follow the Rain at the Eugene Art House on April 12. Expect groundbreaking time-lapse footage of mushrooms growing, plus big-picture talk on how fungi shape ecosystems.

Eugene Fly Fishers: Hooked on Community

In Eugene fly fishing culture, the catch is only part of the story. The local angling community is varied: from the Bohemians, a crew that road-trips to fish and "rough it," to The Damsel Flies, a group of women who go out to share the camaraderie of fly fishing. You'll learn that the people casting on the McKenzie are as varied as the wildlife that shares the space.
