🎶 Tickets for Symphony in the Park

Want to score some free tickets to the Eugene Symphony’s always popular Symphony in the Park at the Cuthbert Amphitheater? Now’s your chance, as they will be put up for grabs on July 1st at 10 AM, sharp! The concert will also be the debut for the symphony’s new music director, Alex Prior. BUSINESS HAPPENINGS

🪞 A business note about this business: Last week, we chatted a little about how to make the Eugene Buzz a better resource for all. So today we’re making a few (subtle at first) changes.

Photos: Below, you’ll notice a bit of a shift from sharing posts from Instagram to photos submitted by you 🫵 But (and this is a big but) this only works if you all out there are willing to share your fun, silly, & picturesque photos that capture everything great about Eugene. So next time you snap a photo of some street art, that perfect sunset, a fuzzy caterpillar, or your overflowing garden, feel free to email them to me → [email protected]

P.S. make sure to include your name so I know who to credit!

Events: I’ll do my best to increase the number of events shared in each newsletter. Not to get too techy, but links add a lot of size (data) to emails, and if they get too big, then providers like Gmail cut off the bottom of the newsletter and make you click a pesky “read online” button. I don’t like that, and you wouldn’t like that, so I’ll try my best to provide as much info as possible while staying under that cutoff.

Business spotlights: Last but not least, finding a way to highlight businesses around town. We’re going to break this down into two (or maybe three) parts - the first is, does it fall under the 'Business Happenings' section? This section of the newsletter is reserved for business openings, closings, major announcements, anniversary celebrations, and other notable events. Think big and new things that the community should know about. So, if your business fits the bill, let me know!

The second is pro bono business spotlights. If you’re part of an organization that is doing good in the community, let me know! Are you an artist who is making cool stuff? Let me know! I’m happy to help spread the word and shine a little light on what you’re doing. Feel free to reach out anytime → [email protected]

Lastly, we’re going to roll out a community bulletin board of sorts. A spot where folks can spread the word about their Vinyasa yoga classes, a discount they’re offering on carpet cleaning, or (as one person recommended) their landscaping services. These spots will cost a few bucks and will be included in the still-to-be-designed bulletin board just under the events section. Want to be the first one to jump on board? Let’s chat! Early adopters always get a sweet deal 🤫

Now, back to your regularly scheduled newsletter programming.
