🎺 Memorial Day events in Eugene

Both the Eugene Pioneer Cemetery and Eugene Masonic Cemetery will be hosting Memorial Day events to remember those in the armed forces who have lost their lives. The Pioneer Cemetery will be hosting a Memorial Day service on Monday at 11 AM. Meanwhile, the Masonic Cemetery will be playing taps on Sunday & Monday at 12:15 PM and offering guided tours starting at the Mausoleum at 12:30 PM.

🥎 UO women’s softball hosts Liberty in the Super Regional

Tickets for this weekend’s super regional games at Jane Sanders Stadium may be sold out, but that doesn’t mean you can’t still show your support. The games will be televised on the ESPN family of channels, with Friday evening’s game kicking off at 7 PM. If the UO team is able to take two out of three this weekend, then they’ll head to the Women’s College World Series in Oklahoma City.

💸 University of Oregon president warns of budget cuts

In slightly less enthusiastic news out of our neighborhood university, the University of Oregon president painted a less-than-enthusiastic picture of the school’s budget situation going into next year. Due to rising costs, loss of federal research funds, and a decline in out-of-state student enrollment, the university is facing a situation where it will have to make some uncomfortable decisions.

☑️ The election results are in

Everyone remembered to turn in those ballots on Tuesday, right? Don’t say I didn’t warn you! The results for the Lane County Special District election are in, and you can find them all here.
