Good morning, Eugene! I want to say a huge thank you to everyone who has subscribed to the Eugene Buzz so far. Yesterday we hit the 2,000 subscriber milestone! 🥳 Here’s to the next 2,000 and keeping Eugene informed on all the best events happening around town.

🎉 The June edition of First Friday

The weather is looking perfect (pollen counts on the other hand 🫠) to head downtown and take in all the First Friday fun. Galleries and art venues throughout downtown will be open and you’ll have the chance chat with artists, see live performances, and take home that new art piece you’ve been lusting over.

Also make sure to swing by the farmers market pavilion for Pride storytime and performances. This event will feature local, queer creators and includes drag storytime, artist vendors, creation stations, and live performances.

BUSINESS HAPPENINGS

☕️ Caffe Pacori anniversary party: Swing by Caffé Pacori to celebrate their 21st anniversary. They’ll have free drip coffee, food and drinks for purchase, free arcade games, rock painting, and more. Now that they’re old enough to drink, you can even buy a beer for the house! Saturday 10 AM - 4 PM

📜 Shred Fest 2025: If you read the name of this event and thought you were in for a sweet write-up on a guitar solo competition and snowboarding event, then prepare to be mildly disappointed. Shred Fest 2025 is coming to Oregon Community Credit Union and is a chance to shred (for free) those old credit card statements, medical bills, and anything else with sensitive personal info that you don’t want going into the recycling bin as is. 💈 House of Fades one-year anniversary bash: Did you know that 20% of businesses don’t make it to the one-year mark? Show some love for House of Fades as they celebrate this milestone in style. They’ll be partying with $5 drinks, hot dogs, and a not-at-all embarrassing karaoke party from 6 - 9 PM. Saturday

👟 Economics of sports and travel: Join the City Club of Eugene for a discussion on how sporting events can serve as an economic driver bringing tourist dollars into Lane County. 1 PM WOW Hall/Livestream

🪧 First Saturday museum tour: Take in a deeper understanding of the art at JSMA with a free guided tour. These take place on the first Saturday of each month and are included with your museum admission. 1 PM Jordan Schnitzer Museum of Art

🧘 Free outdoor yoga: Need some you time? What better way than with a free yoga session at Dorris Ranch? Choose from core yoga at 9 AM and restorative yoga at 10 AM. 9 & 10 AM Dorris Ranch

🌠 Stories in the stars: Bring the little ones (ages 0-5) to the planetarium for an interactive 20-minute show all about the cosmos. 10:30 AM Eugene Science Center Planetarium

👩‍🌾 S.M.J. Garden Club info session: SMJ House is starting a garden club and is looking for gardening-loving members! Interested? They’re hosting an information session with all the details. 11 AM SMJ House

🦉 First Saturday bird walk: Getting up early is for the birds…with the first Saturday bird walk hosted by the Lane County Audubon Society! Location TBA, so keep an eye on their website. 8 - 11 AM

🌿 Herbs & edible flower walk: Have you ever been out on a walk and kept thinking to yourself, can I eat that flower? Now’s your chance to learn whether munching on a dandelion will leave you satiated or writhing in pain with the herbs & edible flower walk hosted by the OSU Extension team. 10 AM GrassRoots Garden

😆 Double Entendre comedy: 5 comedians free-style rap based on audience suggestions. Sounds like a good time to me. 8 PM Lexy’s Comedy Club

🍌 Free compost workshop: Learn how to turn those banana peels into rich, healthy compost that will help make your garden grow. 10 AM GrassRoots Garden

🧺 Picc-A-Dilly flea market: You never know what treasure you’ll find at the flea market, and this is your last chance of the season to check out what the Picc-A-Dilly market has in store. 8 AM - 3 PM Lane County Fairgrounds

🔧 Fix it fair: Have a bike, drill, or other household item that isn’t quite working right? Rather than toss it, bring it to the Fix It Fair, where their team of techs can try to fix it for free! You might even learn some new skills along the way. 1 - 4 PM Lane County Farmers Market

🏃‍♀️ My Breast Friends 5k: Help raise funds for the local cancer community at this 5k run/walk. 10 AM Alton Baker Park

🐶 Little Hands Can turns 10: Little Hands Can has partnered with the Greenhill Humane Society to celebrate its 10th anniversary. Attendees will get to make enrichment puzzles for the pups and tour the shelter. 10 AM Greenhill Humane Society

🧦 Sock hop: Join the Imperial Sovereign Court of the Emerald Empire at their sock hop fundraiser. Along with the dancing, there will also be concessions, games, music, and more! 4 - 7 PM 440 Maxwell Rd

👩‍🎨 Second Ave art fest: Join Whiteaker Printmakers, Clay Space, and Wildling Collaborative for the 1st ever Second Ave Art Fest. There will be artisan vendors, activities for the littles, demos, and live music. 11 AM - 5 PM 2nd Ave between Polk & Taylor

🪴 Paint and plant: Create that perfect pot to show off your perfect plans at this paint and plant event at Beergarden. You’ll be provided with all the materials needed + soil & a plant so you won’t go home with an empty pot. 12 PM Beergarden
